How to Download Pinterest Videos & High-Res Images
Published: July 11, 2026•5 min read
Pinterest is the world's catalog of ideas—a massive collection of board graphics, visual patterns, step-by-step DIY guides, and short video tutorials. While static graphics are sometimes downloadable in low quality via the browser, video pins offer no native download path. Furthermore, Pinterest aggressively compresses files to save bandwidth.
In this guide, we will outline everything you need to know about extracting high-definition media from Pinterest, resolving mobile shortlinks, and saving files safely to your local storage.
Want to download a Pinterest Video or Pin?
Save original-quality images, infographics, and MP4 videos from Pinterest directly to your device.
Open Pinterest Downloader →Supported Pinterest Media Formats
Our tool analyzes the request URL structure to locate the raw file URL. We support:
- Video Pins: Extracted as direct MP4 files in the highest available bitrate (typically 720p or 1080p).
- Static Pins & Graphics: Fetches the original source resolution PNG or JPG file uploaded by the creator, bypassing standard web browser pixelation.
- GIF Pins: Extracts the animated graphics in their native looping `.gif` format.
How to Save Pinterest Pins (Step-by-Step)
Using Mobile Devices (Android & iOS Apps)
- Open the Pinterest app on your phone, find the Pin you want to download.
- Tap on the Pin to expand, then click the **Share** icon (usually a three-dots menu or an arrow icon).

https://pin.it/XXXXXXXorhttps://www.pinterest.com/pin/1234567890/). Our downloader fully supports both format types. - Open your device browser, navigate to our Pinterest Downloader, paste the link, and click Download.
- Click the direct download button to save the MP4 video or JPG image to your camera roll.
Using Desktop PC / Laptop
- Go to
pinterest.comin your browser and locate the pin. - Copy the full URL from the browser search bar (looks like
https://www.pinterest.com/pin/1234567890/). - Paste the URL inside the tool at the top of this page.
- Submit the form, preview the asset, and click save.
Troubleshooting Board and Account Errors
- Board URLs: Make sure you are pasting the link to an *individual Pin* and not a collection Board URL (e.g.
/board/my-ideas/). The tool extracts media from specific pins only. If you paste a board link, open one pin from that board, copy its link, and try again. - Private Boards: For security reasons, pins that are inside private boards (or secret boards) cannot be retrieved by our API workers as they require authorization. Ensure the target pin is public.
